With a background as a Senior Manager at a top London accounting firm, Chris has an incredible knack for quickly spotting and solving the challenges that small business owners face—making him an invaluable asset to our clients.
When he’s not diving into the details of balance sheets, you’ll find Chris hitting the open road on his motorbike or unwinding with a peaceful fishing trip. Whether it’s numbers or nature, Chris knows how to navigate with ease!

DIRECTOR
Meet Nicola, a Chartered Accountant with a wealth of experience and a knack for making numbers work their magic. Armed with top-tier qualifications from a top 25 accounting firm and hands-on expertise as a former Finance Director, Nicola truly understands the financial hurdles small business owners face—and knows exactly how to help them overcome them.
But it’s not all spreadsheets and balance sheets! When Nicola’s off the clock, she’s a proud dog mum to a Greyhound and a Westie. And if that’s not impressive enough, she’s also a talented sewer—you’ll often catch her around the office sporting one of her fabulous handmade creations!

Meet Claire, our brilliant accountant, who runs Zest’s bookkeeping department. Not only does she keep your books in perfect order, she also works closely with clients on their self-assessment tax returns and year-end accounts. Since joining the Zest team in 2019, Claire’s expertise and attention to detail have made her an indispensable part of the team.
When she's not balancing the books, you’ll likely find Claire exploring London Zoo with her young family—proving she’s just as skilled at managing wild adventures as she is at managing finances!

Zest, established in 2013 by husband and wife duo, Chris and Nicola, was born out of their frustration with the impersonal treatment clients often received from traditional accounting firms. Determined to create a different experience, they built a friendly and approachable firm where clients are genuinely valued and feel comfortable reaching out with any questions or concerns.
Through their personable approach, Chris and Nicola fostered strong client relationships, enabling them to provide personalised and targeted support. In 2017, they introduced their free year-round 'helpline,' which became immensely popular. Clients appreciated the peace of mind of being able to make quick phone calls without worrying about additional charges.
Recognising the advantages of cloud accounting, Zest embraced this technology early on, with 95% of their clients utilising cloud software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and FreeAgent. By incorporating add-ons like Dext receipt capturing software, clients have streamlined their accounting functions, saving precious time and enhancing accuracy.
Zest operates on a fixed fee basis, collecting fees through stress-free monthly direct debits. This payment option has been a hit among clients, improving their cash flow and eliminating the worry of a hefty year-end bill.
